The watermelon people are a race of humanoids with watermelons for heads that Peter has occasionally encountered around his barn.
History[]
The watermelon people were first encountered by Peter Caine on December 4th, 2016, when he witnessed a pair of watermelon children steal a bucket of micro cow milk alongside two raccoons, a dog, and a juvenile sasquatch.[1] Biologically they appeared to be around 12 or 13 years of age.
Peter had several more unremarkable encounters with the watermelon children until February 27th, 2017 when he came across the boy watermelon child and removed a rake that was stuck in its head. He remarked that the female was becoming much more shapely.[2]
By April 7th, 2017, the watermelon children appeared to have reached maturity, and were accompanied by a third watermelon child, presumably their offspring. Peter wound up knocking the watermelon kid's head off.[3]He burned the head two weeks later, pointing out that the inside seemed to contain flesh.

On May 22nd, 2017, a fourth watermelon child appeared, however this one appeared to be a watermelon person/human hybrid, most likely Peter's biological son (although he adamantly denies this).[4]
Two days later, a sasquatch delivered the watermelon hybrid, now apparently dead, in a small coffin.[5]
However, it turned out the watermelon hybrid was still alive, and passively lurked around Peter's property, appearing to him again on June 1st, June 10th, July 30th.

On August 20th, 2017, Peter revealed that watermelons with eyes were growing in his yard. The watermelon hybrid was also still in the area.[6] Its current whereabouts are unknown.
Appearance[]
The watermelon people resemble humans, with greenish-white skin, and watermelons for heads. They dress in a fashion similar to the Amish, wearing clothes such as skimmer hats, saddle shoes, bonnets, etc.
Behavior[]
The watermelon people are peaceful forest-dwellers that occasionally wander onto Peter's property, usually to steal things, or request Peter's assistance. They are almost always accompanied by a sasquatch.
When in distress, either physical or emotional, they tend to emit high-pitched wails, although it is unclear how they do this without a mouth.
Abilities[]

The watermelon people age very quickly, completely maturing within several months of being born, resembling a 30 year old human when fully grown. The hybrid, however, seems to lack this ability.
They can lose their melons without any trauma, and survive perfectly fine without them. Peter speculates their heads probably grow back.They also possess the ability to leap great distances, appearing to "float".
